Queensland 1 shilling specimen and cancelled examples

Here are some examples of the 1shilling specimen handstamp. For general information on the 2nd sideface specimen and cancelled handstamps see here.

The known examples for this value are:

SG 171, 1 shilling violet, a diagonally up specimen handstamp in black, size 21 x 2.5 mm in plain capitals

SG 173, 1 shilling mauve and pale violet, a horizontal specimen handstamp in black, size 15 x 2 mm in plain capitals (SCudder type 3)

SG 174, 1 shilling pale-mauve, a diagonally up specimen handstamp in blue, size 21 x 2.5 mm in plain capitals.

This is reputed to be a printer's proof. It is on watermarked, gummed paper
